Preface
King David inquired of God, "Should I stay, or should I go?" God informed Him that should he stay, his life was in danger.
Exodus 33
How will you use what God gave to you - will you allow it to be your idol? Don't allow your pride and stiff-neckedness to cause you to lose your salvation / cost you your relationship with God!
vs 3 Don't lose your shepherd as you journey to the promise land. Don't lose Jesus - don't lose God! Our way is not His way. You wonder why storms may come sometimes - it is because we've become stiff!
Lord, I need you to walk with me EVERY DAY! Do you really desire God, or do you just desire that milk & hone - for things to be better? (vs 3a) What may once seem important is no longer important - we just need to hold on to the Lord.
vs 5b,c - God is giving me a warning for me to "get on the right side!" A rattlesnake rattles his tail as a warning to change direction - he really doesn't want any trouble; however, he is putting you on alert, just in case you still decide to come his way. Then, he's prepared to react!
vs 12, 13 - Have you been enjoying your walk with God? We know that God's benefits are good. If we hold onto a job knowing that the benefits are good, why wouldn't we hold onto God in the same way?
Can God have control of your heart? Can you soften yourself? If God speaks, are you going to move? Lord, I will stop and listen, because I want you to escort me (vs 14). When things are specifically tough, I need God to be PERSONAL with me!
God asks, "Are you willing to...
vs 18,19 Because you humbled yourself, God will show you a good thing! Lord, I want you to ask me to stand next to you - this means I've become Your friend.
